October 2025 Newsletter

Updated: 6 days ago

October is a key time in the Motorsport Calendar.

Hello and welcome to the JB Data Engineering October newsletter. Just as we thought activity was starting to quieten down as we approached the end of the domestic season, bookings have been flooding in for testing and shakedown work. As a result, the JB Data Engineering team has been flat out making sure that our clients are well supported as they prepare for the final rounds of the 2025 season and make plans for next year.

October is a key time in the motorsport calendar. Not only are many teams preparing to travel to Asia and the Middle East for the Asian LeMans Series and 24H campaigns but they are also making detailed plans for 2026. Testing new drivers, shaking down cars and investing in new equipment needs careful, accurate planning and execution. JB Data Engineering can assist you by supporting your testing programmes, providing fast, accurate and relevant track-side feedback on new drivers and advising on potential data and video investments.

Making Key Career Decisions For 2026?

Talking of making decisions for next year, now is the time when many drivers are deciding where, and in what series, they are going to race in next year. JB Data Engineering knows how critical, and sometimes difficult, these decisions can be and whilst we are not career advisors or driver managers, we can offer an educated perspective, based on our years of experience in the industry. Below we’ve outlined six points to consider when making your next career move.

Le Mans in 2030? Six factors to consider when making the decision to move up the motorsport ladder.

Le Mans series racing

As a driver, the direction you take in your motorsport career and the timing of your moves can be critical to achieving your goals. JB Data Engineering has helped many drivers who are considering where to take their careers. Here are six key factors to consider when looking to move up:

1. Performance Track Record

Evaluate your results in your current series. Have you consistently performed well, taken your share of race wins and podiums, or shown strong qualifying pace? A solid foundation demonstrates readiness and attracts higher-level teams. If you have any doubts, another year in your current series to build skills and experience could be the right decision.

2. Alignment with Long-Term Goals

Does this decision logically move you towards your ultimate ambitions? The choices you make will differ if you want to move towards endurance racing, touring cars, or single-seater success. While the offer to move up to a new series might seem exciting, consult with managers, mentors, and other industry professionals to ensure you’re making the right choice.

3. Testing Opportunities

Seat time is vital for building experience, race craft, and circuit knowledge. As an aspiring sportscar driver, considering series such as the Asian Le Mans Series, 24H Dubai, and the Gulf 12 Hours could offer fantastic opportunities to gain on-track experience in preparation for a European assault in 2026.

4. Sponsor Alignment

Does the new series align with the marketing objectives of your sponsors and commercial partners? Consider where the new series competes geographically, the level of streaming or TV coverage it attracts, and the demographic of its audience. These factors could be crucial for your partners. Ensure you explain your plans in detail to your sponsors to secure agreement ahead of the new season.

5. Personal Life Balance

Factor in how your planned move might affect your family, education, business, or work commitments and other interests. Increased travel, longer race weekends, and demanding testing and fitness requirements might require sacrifices. Weigh up if the timing of your move supports your overall well-being.

6. Financial Resources

It’s an obvious point, but higher series come with steeper costs for entries, travel, equipment, and team fees. Do you have sufficient funding, sponsorship, or investor backing to sustain a full season without financial strain or the risk of dropping out due to unplanned expenses?
