2023 Season gets under way at Silverstone with British Endurance Championship

2023 Season gets under way at Silverstone with British Endurance Championship

JB Data Engineering was delighted to invited back to the Data Scrutineering role within the British Endurance Championship, a role that we fulfilled in 2022. The opening rounds of the British Endurance Championship, the Britcar Trophy and the Britcar Prototype Cup were held at Silverstone on the final weekend of March and enjoyed weather that was, for the most part, dry and sunny. The grids across the British Endurance Championship and the Britcar Trophy were very healthy and entry numbers for the Britcar Prototype Cup are bound to increase as the season progresses, given the growing popularity in sportscar racing recently. The role of the Data Scrutineer is to ensure that all entries are running within the regulated technical parameters which is essential to ensure that racing is fair and equitable. With our experience in providing quick and accurate data analysis across many different championships and series, we were able to report back to the race organisers in a timely manner, giving all competitors confidence that the Balance of Performance rules were being correctly enforced. JB Data Engineering would like to thank Claire Hedley and her team at Britcar for their continued confidence in our services and we very much look forward to working with them throughout 2023. The Britcar paddock is full of old friends and it was a great race weekend to open the season with.

Ecumaster EMU Pro-16 – The next generation of stand-alone engine management systems

The EMU PRO is the next-generation stand-alone engine management system aimed directly at professional motorsport. Packaged in machined aluminium case, the Pro-16 is styled very much like its siblings, the Black and the Classic. Two mounting holes mean that its can be securely mounted, preventing the unit from rotating or moving around. The Ecumaster EMU Pro-16 supports 16 injectors and ten coils, either active or passive. The unit has four Fill H Bridges and 28 analogue inputs with an additional 10 digital inputs. Offering precise powertrain control, coupled with the ultimate in flexibility, the EMU Pro-16 can adapt the engine calibrations for the most demanding projects.

Key features of the EMU Pro-16 include an advanced fuelling model including closed-loop short- and long-term trim algorithms combined with a fuel film model providing an exceptional level of accuracy in the control of the injectors. The software is designed to give the user unprecedented flexibility of configuration of strategies. The user can adjust the size of all tables in the software and the channels used on each axis. Bins values on the X and Y axis can be changed too which increases the accuracy of the table readouts in non-linear parts of the model.
