Hello and welcome to the JB Data Engineering September Update. If you were out competing, we hope August was a successful month for you. We have been very busy, working both trackside and supplying and advising clients worldwide.

JB Data Engineering returned trackside with SVG Motorsport for the GT Cup Championship double-header at Silverstone during the first weekend of August, providing technical support across the team’s two-car entry.

Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson shared the driving duties in the #888 GTH-class Ginetta G56 EVO GT4, while Dennis Storey and Alan McCullough teamed up in the #66 GTA-class BMW M2.

Saturday’s 50-minute pit-stop contest laid a strong foundation: the #888 Ginetta secured an impressive 2nd in class, while the #66 BMW fought through to a solid 6th-place finish in GTA.

Sunday’s feature endurance race saw the team’s hard work pay off in full. Strategic precision and sharp pit work propelled Elman and Pratt-Thompson to a dominant GTH class victory in the #888 Ginetta while Storey and McCullough capped off a memorable weekend by steering the #66 BMW onto the GTA podium, ensuring both cars took home silverware.

Flawless teamwork, well-drilled pit stops, and sharp strategy delivered an outstanding dual-podium weekend. JB Data Engineering looks forward to helping the team carry the momentum into the next GT Cup round at Brands Hatch in September.

We were delighted to rejoin the Britcar paddock for our Data Scrutineering role at Donington for the second weekend of August. The meeting was fascinating, with the British Truck Racing Championship, TCR UK and Mini Challenge all on the bill alongside a packed Britcar Endurance Championship grid. Huge thanks to Claire Hedley and her team for placing their trust in JB Data Engineering and we look forward to the relationship continuing to grow in the months and years ahead.

The month drew to a close with a visit to the Nürburgring alongside Jeff Smith and Pyro Motorsport for the GT3 Revival Series, running as part of the prestigious GT World Challenge Europe weekend.

Created by the SRO Motorsports Group, the GT3 Revival Series is an exceptional initiative that brings period-correct FIA GT3 machinery—homologated between 2006 and 2013—back to the track in proper competitive environment.

The event presented an immediate technical hurdle during initial scrutineering, requiring a relocation of the wiring loom on the #46 Pyro Motorsport Audi R8 LMS. What followed was an intensive overnight effort, with the engineering team working relentlessly to replace and validate the loom in time for Friday’s opening sessions.

The hard work paid off with Jeff qualifying the Audi R8 LMS 7th overall and 5th in the competitive AM class. He then delivered two strong, consistent drives: securing 6th in class in Race One before capping off the weekend with an impressive 3rd-place AM class podium in Race Two.

With interest in these modern-classic GT3 platforms surging rapidly, Pyro Motorsport is already working on plans for the 2027 season. JB Data Engineering looks forward to providing continued trackside video and data support as Pyro embarks on this exciting next chapter in historic GT racing.
